Samsung was one of the first ones to announce an update of Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread for its Android devices, but could not keep it up last month. Now Electronista reports of the Korean company finally starting to roll out updates to all of its Galaxy family of mobile devices, including the Galaxy S phones, Galaxy Tab and even to the lower range Galaxy mobile phones.
This update will give the ability of copy paste text, and also should dramatically improve gphics performance, as the support for OpenGL graphics has improved with the version 2.3.
The update should first be available in the Scandinavian countries and then UK sometimes this week. USA and rest of the world will have to wait a little longer.
Although Samsung delayed the roll-out, it still is ahead of many makers like HTC who has not even announced an update for many of its devices. Even Motorola has announced the update for only few phones like the Atrix 4G.
