HTC Desire S Android 2.3 Gingerbread Smartphone

The new HTC Desire S is a handsome device, sporting a new metal unibody design and a slightly more compact form factor than the previous Desire. While the improvements over the previous handset are quite minimal, the Desire S is still a strong contender in the smartphone market, and the new tweaks help it stay in the game.

Running Google's latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread release, the Desire S is among the first to get the new OS, and handles it well thanks to increased RAM, which is now up to 768MB. Storage memory has also been doubled, and now stands at 1.1GB, offering more room for all your content. Add to this a new forward facing camera for video calls, a (very) slightly larger battery, and the latest version of HTC Sense, and you've an altogether slicker handset for 2011.
